Yoyogi Park in Shibuya is getting redeveloped! Construction to begin in April of 2023 and set to start services in the Spring of 2024. This project will introduce an Urban Sports Park where skateboards can be used and multiple plazas, terraces, and park spaces can host events where people can enjoy in their own unique way. Yoyogi Park will also support the physical and mental health of visitors by hosting multiple fitness-oriented events and will create a ‘running station’. The project also states that they will conduct ‘environment friendly development and operation’ by using wall greening, rooftop gardens, and renewable energy sources. The park will also set up a food court for visitors where they can enjoy various types of food whilst in the park.
