Ukrainian authorities on all levels have evinced a determination to conduct fair and transparent elections. The international community has determined to assist Ukrainian authorities in this process. In addition, numerous NGOs will be involved in the process.

In partnership with the authorities, the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine will assist in coordinating the activities of the international community and NGOs with efforts of Ukrainian authorities. It will engage the services of international experts in coordination with ODIHR and the Office of the Representative of the Freedom of the Media, as well as local experts.

The purpose is to coordinate activities in all areas related to a fair and transparent election process. This will be done in accordance with a Plan of Cooperation signed between the CEC and OSCE PCU.

Such activities may include: the coordination of media related activities, training of election officials, and dissemination of election material to voters as well as election officials. The office will be concerned with the election process solely, and it will not engage in any activities, which might influence the outcome.
